Giclée Prints
Giclée is a French word that means to spray. A Giclée Print is the most sophisticated and accurate way to reproduce original artwork from various mediums including oils, acrylics and watercolors.

The imaging printer has a color pallet of up to 12 printing archival colors that are applied to the archival canvas or paper at exactly the same time to give the appearance of continuance tone, similar to a photograph.

Each Giclée Print is also coated with a UV Clear Coat to help protect it from the environment.

Giclée Prints are printed one at a time and is a lengthy process to achieve and maintain the color accuracy of the original piece of artwork.

Numbered Limited Edition Print
Each Giclée Numbered Limited Edition Print is a reproduction series of the original image that only has a limited quantity of 250 prints printed.

Each print is numbered and signed by the actual artist and is accompanied with a Certificate of Authenticity. All of McKibben Studios Giclée Numbered Limited Edition Prints are imaged on canvas with the series not exceeding 250 prints. Prints numbered 2 thru #25 are Artist proofs that will be enhanced by the actual artist and offered at a slightly higher price. Prints numbered 26 thru #250 are our Collector series of Giclée Numbered Limited Edition Prints on canvas. The Artist proofs and the Collector’s series are both using archival colors and 20oz canvas.

Certificate of Authenticity
This is a document that certifies that the Giclée Numbered Limited Edition Print is authentic and approved by the actual artist. The document is; Dated, Clarifies the serial number of the piece, A color photo of the image is printed on the document and it is Signed by the actual artist.

Litho Poster Prints
This type of printing of Lithography is the traditional method of printing posters. Litho posters are typically printed on paper using the four color process “CYMK” (cyan, yellow, magenta & black) method of reproducing the image. This printing process is printed on a high speed Litho press, with the capability of printing thousands of sheets per hour.

Archival
Archival means that the raw ingredients used to create the colors and canvas will stand the test of time and color fastness from our environment for approximately 75 years.

Commission
Commissions are the hiring of an artist to create a particular image that a client has in mind ie…a portrait, a particular landscape or a sculpture.

Sketch
A sketch is a study the artist first conceptualized and lays out the composition of the intended piece the artist is about to paint or sculpt. Often the artist will do a sketch to study light on a image or balance of various subjects to be in the overall composition. The artist will often use a variety of media to work on depending

Original
An original is the actual piece of art that the artist has created prior to any reproductions that may be done at a later time.

Impressionist
This is a particular painting style that the artist uses to create their vision. Impressionist’s styles very from tight brush strokes to extremely bold loose brush strokes or using no brushes and only a pallet knife to apply the medium.

Pop Surrealism
This particular painting style is to portray the subject is from another earthly world, but not really. Pop Surrealism is a style of art that combines natural images or settings full of life with those that aren’t.

Purveyor
A merchant/retailer that is providing goods and/or services to the public of a specific nature or products.

Actual Artist
